BEAUTY: Eye of Horus Amethyst Pencil Eye Liner

Eye of Horus is a brand that I'm relatively new too but I absolutely love the ethics behind the brand. None of their beauty products are tested on animals, contain parabens, their make up brushes never contain animal hair and where possible they stick to natural ingredients. They also pride themselves in delivering their products quickly to their customers, making this brand very accessible to the consumer despite not being sold in shops nationwide.

The Eye of Horus range includes: Eyeliners, Mascaras, Liquid Eyeliner and Eye Liner Sharpener. Their Pencil Eyeliner range is their biggest, with 9 different shades available. The Eye of Horus Jewel Amethyst Pencil Eyeliner* (£13 - you can buy it from here) caught my eye, as it's such a vibrant yet wearable purple shade. The first thing I noticed when I received this product was that the eyeliner pencil is a really good size, I'm sure this will last me a very long time! I also liked the fact that on one of the pencil is the eyeliner and on the other is a smudger. The black eyeliner I've been using for a while doesn't have a smudger, which I've really missed.

'An exceptionally pigmented deep purple shade with purple micro glitter to enhance the eyes and achieve a captivating look.'

I agree with this statement, the eyeliner is really pigmented and has a very good staying power. This stayed on all day and didn't end up down my face - horray!

I've actually found this Amethyst colour really wearable for both the day and night looks. Since receiving this item I have worn it almost every day! Below I've put it along my eyelashes, where I'd usually put liquid eyeliner. It gives a subtle yet different look for the day.

I've also popped it underneath my waterline, which is probably my favourite way of using this eyeliner.

Have you tried any of the Eye of Horus range?

DAY OUT: Stratford-Upon-Avon

Last weekend Tom and I joined his parents for a lovely day out in Stratford-Upon-Avon. It's on the edge of the Cotswolds, so you can imagine it's beauty, as well as of course being the home town of William Shakespeare! There is so much to do there - museums, walking tours, visit the many cafes and restaurants, wander along the river Avon, watch a show at the Royal Shakespeare Company Theatre, go ghost hunting at the Falstaff's experience, shopping and watching the many talented street performers. Just to name a few.

Stratford-Upon-Avon through my lens...

WEDDING: The most beautiful Hair Vine from PearlsPearlsPearls

I have spoken on my blog numerous times about my support and love for smaller businesses that are run by seriously talented people - I think sometimes these companies just don't get enough recognition. As you'll probably know, I'm currently in the midst of planning our wedding. We are doing most of it together but obviously when it comes to my wedding dress and accessories, Tom is having nothing to do with it. Other than hearing about my almost constant indecision!

Wedding accessories often really finish your wedding 'look' off, whether that be glamorous, vintage, casual and everything in between! So when I came across a smaller business selling the most fantastic pearl accessories that are nothing short of perfect for finishing off any wedding 'look'! PearlsPearlsPearls is run by Tabitha Brown (the most lovely women, who shared many wedding tips and experiences with me. It really is an honour to be working with her on my blog) - a very talented lady who started making jewellery when she got engaged. During her own search for wedding accessories and jewellery, she just couldn't find exactly what she dreamed of. Instead of giving up or settling for a 'not so great' alternative Tabitha set up PearlsPearlsPearls. I always have such admiration for anyone who takes the plunge and sets up their own business, especially when they offer such a skill.

I have focused on the wedding jewellery and accessories in this post but PearlsPearlsPearls also offer jewellery, brooches, show clips, men's accessories and hair accessories that are perfect for such a range of occasions.

I just couldn't resist putting together my favourite wedding pieces from PearlsPearlsPearls...

Aren't they all just so pretty?

My absolute favourite item from the PearlsPearlsPearls website is the Round Ivory Freshwater Pearls Silver Grecian Hair Vine* (£25). Last summer I went wedding dress shopping in Lincoln, I tried on numerous wedding dresses but nothing caught my eye. Well, except for a hair vine they had in a glass cabinet. I had never seen or heard of a hair vine, so I had no idea what they really were. When the women showed me one way of wearing them, I was in love. They are slightly less 'formal' than a tiara but still give that special look you want on your wedding day. You can wear a hair vine in so many different ways, using your imagination! The aspect that put me off buying the hair vine there and then was it's price tag - it was almost £70! Now, any Bride to Be or married women will tell you that wedding accessories from wedding dress shops are beautiful but they hold a very high price tag! But I just couldn't justify £70. So when I spotted that PearlsPearlsPearls sell a range of hair vine's for a fraction of the cost but with no element compromised. Tabitha uses the highest quality Freshwater pearls, giving her pearl products that uneven, natural finish. Due to the fact that Tabitha makes all of the jewellery and accessories on PearlsPearlsPearls at her home, there is also an opportunity to discuss bespoke ideas that aren't necessarily on her website already. Something you just don't get with larger companies. Currently, there are six different style hair vines on PearlsPearlsPearls, with prices ranging from £18 to £35. All of the high quality and such outstanding value for your money.

Here's a couple of ways I've styled the Round Ivory Freshwater Pearls Grecian Hair Vine...

^ I attempted a more 'wedding' hairstyle. ^

^ You just attach a hair grip onto the loop on either end of the hair vine. ^

Aren't hair vine's perfect for a more relaxed look?

^ Tom was getting home later today - so I cooked spaghetti Bolognese from scratch, ran a bath, chilled beer and made a dessert. And he was saying Grooms to Be don't get looked after! ^

BATH: Easter and Mothers Day Ranges at LUSH

As a massive fan of LUSH and their simply stunning range of natural bath, skincare and make up products. A couple of days ago we visited Stratford-Upon-Avon with Tom's parents, which was so lovely and the perfect opportunity to pop into LUSH to see if they had their limited edition Easter and Mother's Day ranges. Luckily, they had received the stock that morning! Their Easter and Mother's Day ranges are so colourful and girly, with a range of different style products and scents. That's one thing I love about LUSH's limited edition ranges - they always cater for such a wide audience.

I picked up 4 items, mostly paid for by a gift card I had forgotten about! From the Easter range I bought the Fluffy Egg, Golden Egg and The Brightside. I also couldn't resist buying The Comforter, which is part of their usual stock.

The Comforter (£4.50) is a bubble bar and it's only my second ever bubble bar from LUSH! I absolutely love a big, bubbly bath, so their bubble bars are perfect. The Comforter smells of blackcurrant, bergamot and cypress oil. It's so fresh and fruity, if you don't like the flowery notes in a lot of LUSH products then you'll love this one!

The Fluffy Egg (£2.95) smells just like sweets! The scent is similar to snow fairy - very sweet and pink. The perfect non-edible Easter gift for someone. It's a bath bomb and it's vegan! What's there not to like?!

The Golden Egg (£3.50) is ridiculously glittery! In fact Tom's main worry is how are we going to get the bath clean over using this golden, glittery bath bomb! Putting the slight inconvenience aside, it smells just incredible. It's a bath melt and bath bomb, rolled into one - you'll not only have an incredibly smelling bath but your skin will also be moisturised. The scent is very similar to Honey I Washed the Kids!
The Brightside (£4.50) is also a bubble bar with the strongest citrus smell. I actually bought this for Tom, he loves anything with a citrus scent so I'm sure he's going to love this one! It's filled with Sicillian mandarin, bergamot and tangerine essential oils - to help create that citrus scent.

Have you tried any of these ranges yet?
