BODY: The Body Shop Glazed Apple Body Butter

I am obsessed with anything scented or flavoured with apple, I just love it! So when I saw that The Body Shop had bought out a new range called Glazed Apple I had to get down to my local Body Shop to check the range out. I certainly wasn't disappointed, it smells divine, so divine in fact I never used a body butter up so quickly! The Glazed Apple Body Butter* has all of the loveliness of the usual Body Shop body butter ranges - thick, rich body cream that is just the most moisturising - especially welcome at this time of year.

I would be so happy if I received anything from the Body Shop Glazed Apple range this Christmas, it makes for such a 'treaty' gift! Also, The Body Shop have always got various offers on to take advantage of, at the time of writing this they are offering a massive 40% off plus free standard delivery on orders over £5. So there's definitely always a bargain to be had, without compromising on the quality at all.

Which is your favourite range from The Body Shop?

GIFTS FOR MEN: Ted Baker Mens Mini Hanging Christmas Gift Set

I have some more inspiration for those hard to buy for men today because let's be honest, any inspiration is always welcomed when it comes to buying gifts for men! This time we're talking scents again but mini versions, perfect for hanging on the Christmas tree or as stocking fillers. The Ted Baker Men's Mini Hanging Christmas Set (£22 from Debenhams) is a set of four different mini fragrances, which are individually boxed in the most stylish of packaging. Due to the fact that each fragrance is beautifully packaged you can easily separate the four fragrances and give them to four different people - ideal stocking fillers!

A bit more about the four fragrances:

'XO: Fresh, Green and Woody
Designed for men who have a passion for the finer things in life. Fresh green top notes lead to a heart of aromatic woods, red berries and ginger roots, mixed with base notes of pink pepper and warm, sensual spices.'

'Skinwear: Enticingly Aromatic
Fresh, zingy extracts of Lime, Bergamot and Lemon are blended with notes of Rosemary, Cypress and Juniper with an enticing base of Sandalwood, Amber and Musk.'

'X2O: Spicy and Intense
Top notes of Tangerine, Tea and Cardamom with Lavender, Rosemary Spices and Violet Leaves and a base of Black Pepper, Sandalwood and Amber.'

'M: Understated Sophistication
Top notes of Tonka Bean, Musk and Vetiver are combined with Coriander, Amber and a rich, woody base.'

How's your Christmas shopping going?
(Mine is slow progress but it's more mustering the energy to go, rather than anything else).

GIFTS FOR WOMEN: Cocoa Brown Bronzed and Beautiful Gift Set

Cocoa Brown 1-Hour Instant Tan hasn't been on our beauty shelves for all that long but it's taken the fake tan market by storm. I remember winning a bottle from Ireland ages ago, when it wasn't easily available in England, but now you can pick a bottle up in Superdrug, feelunique.com and Primark to name a few. The Cocoa Brown range has also expanded, including 1-Hour Tan Dark, Gentle Bronze Gradual Tan, Lovely Legs Spray Tanning Make-Up, Tough Stuff Body Scrub, Chocolate Whip Oil-Free Body Moisturiser, Tanning Mitts and Gift Sets.

You can read my first review of Cocoa Brown 1-Hour Instant Tan here, written back in February 2013! Since then I've been an avid user and am constantly recommending it and being recommended it too. So when I saw that Cocoa Brown were doing gift sets I knew they would make the most perfect gift for women who love self tanning.

The Cocoa Brown Bronzed and Beautiful Gift Set (£7.95) contains everything a good self tanning gift set should -

Cocoa Brown 1-Hour Tan
Cocoa Brown Gentle Bronze Gradual Tanner
Sachet of the Award Winning Cocoa Brown Tough Stuff Body Scrub

I can't believe you get all of that for £7.95 and the quality is simply outstanding!

Have you tried the wonders of Cocoa Brown?

BABY: Unisex Clothing Wish List

As I've discussed in a previous post (see here), I've been struggling to find unisex baby clothes and from speaking to other Mum's or Mum's to be they also had the same struggle. A lot of retailers must presume everyone will either find out the gender of their baby or not buy most clothes until the baby has arrived (again, that requires patience. Something I'm not particularly blessed with). I've browsed the internet and high street shops high and low, to put together a wish list of unisex clothes for anyone who has also been struggling...

BEAUTY: A very disappointing eye make up remover...

Unfortunately I've got a negative review today of a product that really hasn't worked for me. Obviously with skincare it's different for each person but I've really disliked using the Boots Bontanics Soothing Eye Make Up Remover All Bright (£3.99) over the past month. In fact I've disliked it so much I have thrown it away and had to buy another eye make up remover and I never, ever do that normally.

There are a couple of things that resulted me in disliking this eye make up remover:

1) The way you dispense the product out of the bottle, it just pours out. There isn't a little hole to stop too much product coming out, so too often I'd end up with a greasy mess as the cotton pad I was using became completely saturated.

2) The greasy/oil nature of this product made it very unenjoyable to use. Prior to this eye make up remover I had been using the Nivea Daily Essentials Eye Make Up Remover (£3.59 from Boots), which had two layers of product, one of which was oily. However this didn't leave any oily residue at all, so was nice to use and didn't leave my skin feeling like it needed to be deeply cleansed. The Bontanics Soothing Eye Make Up Remover is so oily that it would sometimes blur my vision, as the oily residue stuck to my eyelashes. No pleasant in the slightest.

3) It didn't remove my eye make up. The one job it has to do and it fails. Not even non-waterproof mascara and eyeliner!

Overall I'm really disappointed with this product, as I'm sure you can tell. I won't be repurchasing it, neither would I recommend it.

Have you experienced any disappointing products recently?

BABY: The struggle to find unisex clothes continues...

Since becoming pregnant I've realised quite how hard it is to find unisex clothes for babies. There are a lot of blue collections for boys and pink collections for girls but what about the people who don't want to find out the gender of their baby or those who don't really want their baby to only wear gender 'typical' colours. We don't intend to dress our children in just blue if their a boy or just pink if they're a girl, personally we want to mix it up a bit. If you're the patient kind then you may now buy anything for your little one until you're quite far down the line but if you're like me then I just couldn't wait. If you do choose to find out the gender of your baby, then it usually doesn't happen until the 20 week scan, potentially that's 16ish weeks of knowing you're pregnant and not buying any cute clothes. I'm just not one that could resist.

We decided to have a grey/star theme in the babies nursery, whether we decided to find out the gender or not. It's neutral, timeless and cute - well we think so anyway. So I was keeping my eye out for clothes that were grey/white with stars on, a surprisingly hard job. Most of the shops I thought of only had pink/blue ranges, a lot of which were beautiful and very cute but without knowing the gender it's impossible to make any pink/blue purchases.
STARS - GREY and WHITE COTTON FABRIC by the metre EX WIDE NURSERY BOYS FASHION | eBay
I'm surprised there aren't more high street shops that offer unisex clothing ranges that are to the same standard as their pink/blue ranges. I've found some shops do very plain, boring and not so cute unisex clothes, as if they feel like they 'should' but don't really want to spend any time or money on it. This may just be my personal experience and I would love to know of any shops/online stores that offer cute unisex clothes? Please leave me a comment if you know of any.

Did/Are you struggling to find unisex baby clothes?
