^In our local newsletter it said that there were some tarragon plants free for anyone to have from our village hall, so we popped to see if any were left and we came back with these two! I love village life.^

REVIEW: Soreen - The Original Malt Loaf Company

Soreen Fruity Five* (£1.20 or currently on offer 2 for £2 from Tesco) is one of their newer malt loaves, it's packed full of dried fruit and reminds me of Christmas for some reason!

Having malt loaf when I was younger was such a treat, the squidgy-ness spread with margarine and consumed in almost one mouthful was (and still is) complete heaven. I remember leaving for university, the first time I had full reign of what I ate and I would buy a Soreen Malt Loaf almost every week. Somehow you have a couple of slices and before you know it nearly the whole loaf has disappeared! It's just so moreish. If you've never tried it before you are seriously missing out - it's chewy, squidgy, packed full of raisins and can be eaten in a variety of different ways.

Soreen Toastie Loaf* (£1.20 from Tesco) is ideal for breakfast, toasting malt loaf is a new concept to me but it's so warming for colder days.

I have to admit I do tend to eat Soreen Malt Loaf spread with margarine but having had a peek at their website the options are endless, as is their range now! I couldn't believe how many different varieties of Soreen Malt Loaf there is now; from chocolate to banana to apple and sultana! After reading their 'Yummy Ideas' area of their website I now have a long list of recipes I can't wait to try out, I just need to get loads more as all of the products below have mysteriously disappeared (in my tummy)!

Soreen Banana Lunchbox Loaves* (£1.35 from Tesco) can fit nicely in a lunch box for a healthier alternative to chocolate bars. The banana loaf is really tasty, it's a lot lighter than the original malt loaf and can be eaten without margarine if you prefer.

These recipes are at the top of my list....

(I don't think I've ever tried a Baked Alaska before but I think I'd love it!)

Soreen Apple and Sultana* (£1.20 or currently on offer 2 for £2 from Tesco) is also a new addition to their range, I really liked this one because the apples somehow made it quite refreshing.

Which is your favourite variety from the Soreen Malt Loaf range?
Have you tried any of the recipes?
I'd love to know which ones are work a try :)

WEDDING: Personalised Vintage Apple Crate Review

Personalised.
Vintage.
Crate.
Wedding.

These words pretty much sum up my life at the moment and one very happy life it is. The wedding planning is coming along, the sun has been shining and we're concentrating on the smaller details of our wedding now. I am enjoying being a Bride to Be so much at the moment, it's bring out our creative sides and encouraged us to work together and become even more of a unit together.
When I came across a product that bought those four important words together, I fell in love. In love with the beautiful product, in love with the quality and craftsmanship and finally in love with how perfectly it fits in with our wedding. The Personalised Vintage Apple Crate* made by Fontwell Designs is available from Perfect Details for £29.99. The uses of this outstanding quality apple crate are endless, so many ideas raced through my head as I opened up the box it was in.

The Personalised Vintage Apple Crate would be perfect for....

a thoughtful wedding present
or
ideal for offering your guests flip flops for tired feet
or
sunglasses for bright sunshine
or
blankets for the cooler evenings
or
homemade hamper

or
umbrellas for unwanted rain showers
or
a collection box for cards and gifts
or
presenting favours

or
beautiful smelling flowers/herbs
or
holding cocktail accessories
or
games for your guests
or
a seating plan on wire surrounded by flowers
or
holding cones/boxes of confetti

or
simply as a lovely memory of your wedding day.

On the Perfect Details website you can opt for the crate to have a liner in (for 75p extra), this allows your to add soil and plant flowers/herbs in the crate. I'm currently on a growing fruit/vegetables/herbs/flowers project, where I aim to grow some flowers that might be able to appear at our wedding. I have no idea if they will be successful but you can't blame a girl for trying! Also on the Perfect Details website you can pick between Script font (which is on this crate) or Century font and whether you want vintage white or natural wood (as is this one) - the choice is yours! Soo many choices, so it's just perfect for you :)

What's your favourite use for this gorgeous apple crate?

HOME: Spring Decor from notonthehighstreet

I absolutely love creating a 'home' for Tom and I - I say home because that's what a house becomes when there's love, care and attention paid to it and within it. Or I believe so anyway. Spring is all about fresh flowers, opening windows again, lighter colours and the good old 'spring clean'. Tom is a much neater person than me, I was always considered neat until I met Tom and now I'm considered messy (which I'm not!). I love the Spring time, it's so fresh and vibrant! It's like everything comes back to life again - blossom on the trees, daffodils growing everywhere and it's my birthday! As I was casually browsing the notonthehighstreet website for the hundredth, thousandth time - I found myself imaging creating the most beautiful Spring home with the following items...

Three Month Monthly Flower Subscription
Three Month Monthly Flower Subscription
Three Month Monthly Flower Subscription

^ Three month monthly flower subscription by Bloom & Wild £50. Bloom & Wild are a relatively new business but their concept is so original - delivered flowers that can fit through the letterbox! There's no worry if the recipient isn't at home because the flowers are carefully wrapped and boxed up, so that they fit through your letterbox. I recently sent some Bloom & Wild flowers to my cousin for her birthday and she loved them! Such a treat to come home too. ^
